FAQs

Here are some of our most frequently asked questions by our customers. If you can’t find the answer you’re looking for then give us a call or use the contact form here. We’re always happy to help.

General

How long will it take to delivery my shed?
Usually around the 3 week mark depending on the season (it’s busier in the summer time). Sheds are made to order so please be patient.
Can I specify the date and time?

Absolutely, we’ll work around you.

How far will you travel?

Usually within a 30 mile radius. Any further and we’re likely to charge an additional fee to cover the cost of time and fuel. It also depends on the type of job – There’s a difference between delivering a small building and working a large fencing and decking job with a log cabin.

Do I need to be in for you to deliver?

No necessarily. As long as you’ve paid and we don’t require special access we’ll happy erect your building while you’re out or at work.

What base do I need?

If it’s generally flat and solid ground (flags, gravel) that will do fine – We’ll level up for you on bearers. We’ll also allow erection on grass provided the soil isn’t too soft and likely to get too damp when it rains. For shed’s above 8 ft we definitely recommend a flag or gravel base. Of course a concrete base it always best.

Do you have a showroom?

We have recently moved premises and as a result we no longer have a showroom. We are planning to put displays up in the near future. We will advertise here on our website when we do.

I don’t know what size shed I need – Will you come and measure?

Of course we will!

What are your opening hours?

Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm. We’re generally off site on Saturday. If you plan a visit please telephone as we may be offsite.

Cost

What’s included in the price?

VAT, delivery, erection (including levelling up), any glass, bearers, hinges and treatment.

Do prices include VAT?

Yes, all prices are inclusive of VAT.

Do you provide quotations?

Absolutely! And free of charge and with no obligation. All the work we do is to order and specification. If it isn’t your standard building like decking or fencing work then we need to provide a quote for you. We’ll happily come and take a measure.

Do you give refunds?

We’re flexible. If the product isn’t to your satisfaction we’ll do our best to sort it. If you’re really unhappy then we can come to an agreement and depending on circumstances offer a full refund. The timing is essential however as wood is a natural product that alters and eventually deteriorates over time.

Product

What material are the buildings constructed with?

Timber: Scandinavian pine.
Framing: 2″ x 1.5″ rails (3″ x 2″ for buildings over 10′ or workshops).
Walls: ½” Shiplap cladding (¾” on request).
Floor, doors and roof: ½” standard T&G cladding (¾” on request).

What are the buildings treated with?

We use a spirit base preservative. Spirit based is completely fine so long as the building has regular treatment each year.

How often should I treat my shed?

We recommend 6 month after we’ve delivered it and every year after that with a spirit based preservative.

What warranty is there?

Buildings and fencing come with a 12 month warranty. Decking comes with an 18 month warranty. We expect our products to last much longer than this of course, however wood is a natural product that alters and eventually deteriorates over time and being an outside product requires maintenance in the form of treatment.

We’re flexible. If the product isn’t to your satisfaction we’ll do our best to sort it.

Will you provide a base?

So long as the ground is relatively flat and substantial (gravel, flags) we will level up your building on bearers and if necessary bricks. If you don’t have a substantial base we can provide a number base work types, from gravel, flags and concrete. We will need to come to your property to take a look and provide you with a quotation as this will be an additional cost to the building itself.
